I might get areas outside the selected area get a pattern. Both inkscape and freecad are producing strange results. Like the holes in ends of rods in my example drawing. Also problems where a curve looks straight from the drawn perspective.
Especially when I have proper threads with radius on the pointy bits. My issue is that its (freecad) not making the boarder around a shape quite right.

Not sure how to describe clearly in digital terms. The two outer tubes need hatching on cut faces to line up. Consider the cross section drawing attached. One extra concern is how patterns in multiple areas line up. But scaled correctly for freecad created documents. What I really want is to make some patterns and save them in inkscape for future use. Then inkscape crashed, so no example image.
I tried copy object properties with some success. (Aside from a good dose of PTSD from the time I had to convert (with gedit ) the company drawing template to scale for freecad template. I have no idea with python or anything else in that tutorial. rather than dragging mouse to some close but random value I wont be able to replicate later. Would prefer to constrain lines via propertys, rather than dragging with mouse. Cant use them though because they wont line up right if I have the same pattern in multiple "areas".
